Pakistani girl who started professional figure skating at the age of 5 wins her first international award

Figure skating is an unknown sport in Pakistan. However, even with a lack of attention towards it and little to no facilities available in Pakistan, Mallak has ensured that nothing holds her back.

Living her dream of becoming a professional figure skater, Mallak Faisal Zafar started her career at the age of five and has now won her first international award in Austria.
Mallak secured the first position in the Basic Novice Girls II category at the 24th International Eiscup Innsbruck 2019. She has pretty much opened new avenues for Pakistanis in figure skating, through her fine display in the two-day event.

More than 200 participants from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Austria, and other countries competed in the competition. Mallak’s ultimate dream is to represent Pakistan at the Winter Olympics.
