We all know that staying hydrated is super important when it comes to being healthier & happier but did you also know that water is the #1 most important thing that we should be consuming on a daily basis. Why?
Because it helps our liver and kidneys flush out toxins, keeps us energized and helps fight fatigue. It has also been shown that people who increase their water consumption consume fewer calories, as well as less saturated fat, sugar, and sodium — these are just to name a few!
There are also gazillions of articles on the internet about how drinking a lot of water will make your skin all soft and glow-y. The recommendation that is considered to be a safe and prudent amount
of daily water for the average individual is the the 8×8 rule.
The 8×8 rule:
an eight-ounce glass of water, 8 times a day.
We decided to put this theory to the test & try it out for ourselves!
Hence, our very own –
ft. the 8×8 rule
Now if you’re thinking of taking the 30-day water challenge then there are some rules that you will need to follow to accurately judge the changes you feel overall in yourself.
Rules for the #30DayWaterChallenge :
#1. Mentally prepare yourself for drinking water like a fish. No excuses. No Backing out. No next times. 100% commitment. Right here and now.
#2. Take a ‘Before‘ picture of your face on the 1st day of starting your challenge. This is very important because seeing is believing! You are ‘apparently’ supposed to see a visible difference in 30 days. *fingers crossed*
#3. Print out the ’30 Day Water Challenge sheet’ to help you keep track of your water intake. Strike off every glass that you drink from the sheet with a pencil/pen or simply download it on to your phone & scribble out by editing the photo with your finger. Post on Instagram & Facebook so you can encourage your friends to join in! #30daywaterchallenge
It’s as simple as that!
You can even get a cute water bottle specially for this challenge. It does wonders to motivate me for one!
(Also remember to keep the environment in mind while participating in this challenge, try to drink from reusable water bottles and cups whenever possible!)
Why You Should Try this Challenge Out?
Did you know that you could possibly be dehydrated & not even know about it? Dehydration occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. Even mild hydration can:
- Drain your energy
- Make you tired
- Dry out your skin
- Cause headaches
- Cause dizziness or make you feel “foggy”
So maybe if you’re feeling super tired or exhausted, one of the causes can be linked to not drinking enough water? This is why it’s a good idea to monitor how much water you should be drinking on a daily basis.
Staying hydrated has tons of benefits with can greatly influence our overall health. It can also help with chapped lips, dandruff, feeling lazy AND also improve our digestive health! Water is THAT amazing.
Personally i’m kinda excited to start this challenge to see how long i can actually stick to it and if, religiously following, it will change how i feel in general about my skin & health.
