The coronavirus (Covid-19) has all of us doing our part and self-isolating. Many countries have slowly started to announce quarantines in their major cities and as much as we like a chilled-out weekend no one knew that we’d slowly start to get too bored to even relax anymore.
A lot of people are using this time to get back into things they haven’t for a while and some are dabbling into activities that they haven’t ever tried before.
One of the most popular activities right now, is painting.
“I am not good at art, I can’t do that” I hear you but stick with me here.
Art is a form expression, you don’t have to be “good at it” you just enjoy creating whatever you want!
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Any kind will do, whatever you have laying around the house
Everyone has that in some form or the other
A brush or a sponge
Since we can’t go outside, even an old cheap make up brush would suffice
And your beautiful mind
You don’t necessarily have to paint portraits from the get-go, you can start super easy like a simple blended ombre painting:
If this is too easy for you you can kick it up a notch by adding a little forest to it:
If you can do this you should totally raise the bar and try out a Bob Ross tutorial. The paintings look daunting but they’re surprisingly easy! His tutorials are very easy to follow and let’s face it, Bob Ross is an angel and he’ll calm your quarantine mind down even if you don’t follow the tutorial itself!
The best part about this is that you can do this activity as a family. When we’re all stuck under one roof 24/7 it’s easy to get into feuds even over how someone breathes. Art is a great way of spending your time in a productive way and it’s a great bonding experience for the family!
