In response to PM Imran Khan’s statement, women share their experiences of harassment and ‘what they were wearing’

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan is under heavy criticism for saying that ‘wearing less clothes tend to tempt men and eventually lead to rape’.

“If a woman is wearing very few clothes, it will have an impact on the men, unless they’re robots. I mean it’s common sense”, said the PM.

Internet users are outraged over this statement, saying that it’s not only women who are raped, but children are raped as well, along with men, animals, and dead bodies. People think that this statement is highly irresponsible from the leader of a country, as it automatically shifts the blame on the victim, and tells men they can get away with anything.

Indeed, this statement is adding fuel to the fire, as more and more sexual harassment and rape cases are coming forth. Every day, not just women, but children, young men, and even animals and dead bodies are raped. His statement is giving men an excuse for their actions.

In response to the PM’s statement, women have started a thread on Twitter in which they are sharing their harassment experiences and what clothes they were wearing when it happened.
