The conference

While addressing the Ashra-e-Rehmatul-Lil-Alamin conference, PM said that Islam is a religion of peace. The west did not understand it, hence, the goal of the authority is to explain religion to the world.

PM Khan announced that the authority will monitor print and electronic media. It will be in charge of monitoring the school curriculum and how children are learning the biography of the Propet (PBUH).

He added that there has been an increase in ‘sex crimes’, like rape and child abuse cases. PM Imran said that ‘Bollywood’ and ‘Hollywood’ are to blame for spreading obscenity in society. He said that survivors of rape and abuse do not pursue cases due to their families. PM Khan added that society has to fight the increasing rate of sex crimes.

He is of the opinion that obscenity is a threat to society and is putting family values in danger. The leader asked scholars to play their role in saving the ‘family system’, and that Islam has given the concept of ‘veil’ to save the system.

PM Imran Khan also said that the rate of divorce is increasing. He said that from personal experience, he can confirm that divorce has an adverse impact on the children. The supreme said he is aware of the destruction that divorce causes.

“I have children. We had a divorce. There is no bigger curse than divorce”, he said.

He also urged the media to play its role. As we can’t stop the growing influence of media, we need to engage the youth and teach them Islamic values.
