In the light of the Minar-e-Pakistan incident, Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari has stated that women should have their own specific time slot to visit parks. She also said that men should not be allowed in the parks during that time.
Presenting a report on the incident to the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights, Mazari questioned why ‘restrictions are being imposed on women.’ She also said that since most of the problems are caused by youth, therefore, curbs should be imposed on them. Mazari believes that this will ‘teach the youth a lesson.’
