Under the name of ‘White In The Flag’, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has launched a project which basically sheds light and educates people about the lives of ‘minorities’ in Pakistan and the legislation against them. This project also raises awareness about how to help the suffering minorities of the country.
The ‘About page’ on the website reveals that the multi-year project is based on Quaid-e-Azam‘s vision of Pakistan that is all about tolerance and acceptance for all. It is further mentioned that SOC films hope that this project will become a source that will be used by everyone to understand the condition of minorities in our country.
Sharmeen took to Instagram where she shared that ‘White In The Flag’ is a platform that will bring together activists, legislators, and students to collectively talk about solutions to the problems and struggles of the religious minorities keeping a track of the past, present, and the future.
The interactive website has highlighted issues such as target killings, forced conversions, media representation, blasphemy law, and more. Other than this, it also has a section dedicated to human rights defenders both living and deceased.
