As incidents of harassment continue to rise, the Punjab Police has taken an initiative to help women who put up with such incidents.
Punjab Police has launched an app that allows women to contact authorities when in the time of need. The name is, ‘Women Safety App’. This application lets women alert the Police Emergency Helpline by just clicking a button. After that, the coordinates are easily reported to the officers, through which they can locate the person in need and help them out.
The app also has an ‘Emergency Live Chat’ option to help women. Through the app, they can also call the helplines of Motorway Police and Punjab Highway Patrol.
On the app, you can see all the secure, partially secure, and unsecured places on the map. These areas are rated through reviews by other women. You can add your reviews about any place too.
The app is linked with IGP Complaint Center, PCSW Complaint Portal, and Ombudsman Complaint Portal to allow women to lodge their complaints with ease.
If the app is successful in fulfilling its purpose, it will be a big help to the women of the country. The app can come in handy in a time of crisis.
