Oxford University announces scholarships for Pakistani students.

The British High Commission of Pakistan in London has recently initiated the Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP). OPP includes lectures, visiting fellowships, and graduate scholarships.

The project has been found by two Oxford alumni named Talha Pirzada and Haroon Zaman. Adeel Malik is the academic head of the program. The program aims at providing opportunities for excellent Pakistani students who want to study at Oxford. It gives academic and research scholarships. Other than this, an annual Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal lecture on Eastern Philosophy has also been announced.

Multiple Oxonians, including Malala Yousafzai and senior Oxford academicians, were a part of the launch. An additional scholarship was announced by Malala herself. The mentioned scholarship allows one Pakistani girl from an underprivileged background to study at Oxford.
