Although women are busy raising voices for victims of rape every single day, it is still a long walk to freedom. Recently, a beautician was allegedly gang-raped by four men after she was booked for makeup at a house in Lahore.
The victim, Huma Karamat, was a beautician living in Yohanabad. After the incident, she filed a complaint at the Nishtar Colony police station. She said that six months ago, she received a call from a nurse named ‘Asiya,’ who called her to her ‘house’ for make-up services.
She was offered juice, which was mixed with drugs, and was then subjected to sexual abuse. Huma added that the criminals made videos of her and continued to blackmail her for six months. The accused warned her that if she told anyone, they’d make her videos go viral. Then they called her home again and threatened to kill her brothers.
Police have filed a case against five accused, including the nurse in the case. The suspects are Sarfaraz Jeewan, Saleem, Nazir, and Munir Masih. An investigation is being conducted as the matter looked suspicious. The police have added that real facts will be brought in public and the perpetrators will be caught and punished.
