8 Pakistani women have made it to the list of ‘100 Oustanding Nurses and Midwives’

To acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of nurses and midwives during the world pandemic, ‘World Health Organization’ (WHO), United Nations Population Fund, Nursing Now, in collaboration with Women in Global Health (WGH), has released the list of 100 outstanding nurses and midwives from 43 countries.

8 Pakistani women have made their way into the list. These nurses are a part of Aga Khan University’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, SONAM.

The 8 nurses and midwives who have been honored by being named in the list include Rozina Karmaliani (Professor and interim dean), Samina Vertejee (Assistant professor at AKUSONAM), Saima Sachwani (Assistant professor and Section Head of Public Health stream at AKUSONAM), Yasmin Nadeem Parpio (Assistant professor at AKUSONAM) and Marina Baig (Senior instructor at AKUSONAM).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated these sheroes for their achievement and hard work for the country during rough times. They have indeed made the whole nation proud.
