Students in Karachi develop app which can help identify fake medicines

The phrase ‘FAKE’ products has been making more and more rounds on news channels and social media.

No matter what we are buying, the fear that the product might not be original is always lingering in our minds.

Whether it’s toiletries, food items or medicines, you can never really be sure if it’s authentic or not.

News regarding fake medicines was making rounds on news channels and led us to wonder where our humanity has gone. If people can stoop as low as playing with people’s lives, what can us helpless people do? Where there are devils, fortunately there are angels as well. Angels who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of their fellow citizens and work selflessly for the betterment of our society.

Two such angels are Aqsa Akhtar and Muhammad Awais Khan who have developed an application that can verify the authenticity of your medicines.

All you have to do is go to play store and download the app.

Before purchasing any medicine, open the app and scan the bar-code on the medicine box. It will not only verify it but will also inform you if the medicine is expired. How cool is that?

It’s so comforting to know that the youth is working day and night for the relief and betterment of our country. Let us all hope that this app proves useful to us in the long run.
