Frizz is pretty much something everyone deals with, and it’s not nice. It gives your hair a very messy look, and taming frizz can sometimes be tough. However, it is not impossible.
No matter what your hair type or texture is, at some point, you will deal with frizzy hair. Especially when there is humidity, your hair will be a mess. As mentioned above, taming frizzy hair can be tough to do, but it is not impossible.
What causes frizz?
First, let’s figure out what causes frizz. One of the main reasons is obviously the weather. Rainy, humid weather can make your hair frizzy and dry.
On the other hand, if your hair are damaged, then you will experience it as well. What damages your hair? There are many things. It could be damaged due to color and chemical treatments or using heat tools frequently.
Getting rid of frizz
Now, there are a few things you can do to rid yourself of ‘bad hair days’. Starting off with the cold water secret.
Controlling your frizz starts in the shower. When washing your hair, make sure that the water is not scorching hot. Coldwater helps to seal in moisture. But, the water should not be ice-cold as well. The water should be lukewarm.
2-Using heat protectant
When styling your hair using a blow-dryer, curling iron, or straightener, use a heat protectant. Style your hair at lower heat settings. Heat protectants can prevent loss of moisture in the hair from constant styling.
3-Ditch the towel
It is time you ditch the towel. Do not try your hair using towel as it is harsh and can lead to hair breakage. If you must, use a microfiber towel, and brush your hair with a wide-tooth comb.
Another accessory you need to consider is a silk pillowcase. The silk texture creates less friction, hence resulting in decreased frizz.
4-Using the right products
Using the right hair products is essential as well. Go for shampoos that do not have sulfate and alcohol as they can dry your hair out. Use products specifically designed to decrease frizz, and you will see a noticeable difference.
