How to make your own makeup remover at home

I love doing my makeup on a daily basis which gives me an instant confidence boost. Who doesn’t love dolling themselves upright? You go about your day, getting your daily tasks done. By night time you feel so exhausted. You just want to the hit the sack and sleep till your body is energized for the next day’s grind. Your ‘sleeping happily’ plans are going to have to wait because you have one major ritual waiting for you that probably every girl hates, ‘taking off your makeup.’

You let out a sigh and drag your tired body out of bed. When you get to your dresser and reach for your trusty makeup remover what do you see? It’s finished. What do you do now? The tiny bottle costs so much and hardly lasts a month. Don’t you wish there was any other alternative. Guess what? There is. You can make your very own makeup remover at home.

All you need is:

Distilled water 1 cup.

Coconut oil 1 tablespoon.

Any baby shampoo 1 ½ tablespoon.

Lavender essential oil, 1-3 drops (optional).

Start off by melting the coconut oil in the microwave. Once it liquefies pour the coconut oil, baby shampoo, distilled water and essential oil (if you are using it) in a clean mason jar. Close the lid tightly and shake well. Then you can transfer the mixture to a bottle with a pump so you have easy access. Viola! Your very own homemade makeup remover is ready for use.

This remover works great in removing even stubborn makeup and leaves your skin feeling fresh and moisturized. Coconut oil present in this solution works great for dry and aging skin. If you suffer from oily skin, make sure you add a lesser amount of coconut oil.

There you have it. Do let us know if this makeup remover worked for you. We would to hear your feedback.
