These chemicals are not only harmful to the skin but have many serious impacts on health. You might not know but the products you have on your vanity might cause cancer, hormonal imbalance, and reproductive harm as well.

Although the use of toxic chemicals is concerning, this does not mean that you stop using beauty products altogether. You need to know what ingredients are harmful and try to avoid them.

1- Siloxanes

Siloxanes or cyclical silicones are found in multiple beauty products. Other than being bad for the environment, this ingredient can cause hormonal imbalance.

2- Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde is an ingredient commonly used in nail polishes and hair straightening products. However, this ingredient is cancer-causing and hence, should be avoided.

3- Toluene

This ingredient is banned in many countries. But you can still find it in products like nail polishes, hair dyes, and more.

Toluene can cause brain toxicity. Other than that, it is extremely harmful to women in pregnancy. This product should be avoided at ALL COSTS.

4- Oxybenzone

This is a very commonly found ingredient in sunscreens. Oxybenzone is famous for disrupting endocrine levels in the body.

5- Polyethylene glycol (PEGs)

You might like thick, heavy creams but do you know these creams contain PEGs. PEGs are related to petroleum and hence, can irritate the skin.

6- Parabens

Parabens are very common. They have been closely linked to breast cancer.
