Model Annaya Rahimi called Zartasha Couture recently. The model called the organization ‘transphobic.’
Transgender model Annaya has lashed out at clothing brand Zartasha Couture. The model was frustrated because she, along with her fellow trans models, did a shoot for the brand that they didn’t upload. She also revealed that the brand is owned by Hanif Jewellers’ daughter.
The model called both organizations ‘Transphobic.’ She took to Instagram where she posted pictures from the shoot herself. In a lengthy note, she explained how they were betrayed by the brand. She shared some pictures from the shoot with her fans. She wrote in the post that the owners gave a very uncomfortable feeling. The model told that they didn’t sign any ‘contracts.’ They were also paid ‘equal to nothing’ for the work.
Annaya mentioned that she and her fellows agreed to do the shoot because they were thankful for the opportunity. However, she expressed her disappointment because their time and efforts were wasted. The model said that the brand only uploaded a trailer. But the actual shoot was never uploaded.
Giving more details, Rahimi told that she kept questioning about the shoot. However, the brand stopped replying to her.
She opened up about how she felt like their work shouldn’t be wasted. Hence, she shared the shoot herself on her social media.
Annaya Rahimi ended the note by sharing the derogatory remarks she was given by the brand during the shoot. She revealed that the brand owner told them how working with them was a ‘risk.’ The models were told that the brand’s image might be affected by working with trans models. The model accepted that the words actually hurt her sentiments and she wouldn’t be able to forget them.
Multiple celebrities including Iffat Omar and Meesha Shafi extended their support to the model.
