The Saraab actress, Sonya Hussyn recently took to Instagram to call out the Lux Style Awards. She spoke her heart out expressing her frustration over the criteria on which LSA nominates dramas for awards.
Sonya wrote, ‘It’s very disappointing to see that a project like Saraab did not bag even a single nomination at #LSA2021.’ The Ishq Zahe Naseeb actress wrote that the public asks for meaningful content which educate masses however, when such dramas are created, they do not get recognition. She belives that these are purely double standards.
She then questioned that if awards were given on the basis of quality of the content then why her dramas like Aesi Hai Tanhai, Nazo, Meri Guriya, and more were never appreciated. All the dramas that Hussyn mentioned starred her in the leading role and highlighted a number of social issues such as social media abuse, child abuse, and more.
‘I’ve been silent for 7 years but really, were none of them deserving? Not even a single project? Anyhow, in a country where veteran artists are given lifetime achievement awards after they’re gone, then of course who am I to question?’
Sonya Hussyn was basically angry over the fact that a quality drama like Saraab wasn’t nominated for LSA’21. The drama serial basically revolved around a girl suffering from schizophrenia which is a mental disorder.
