‘I don’t like people who defame women,’ Sonya Hussyn thrashes Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar

Sonya Hussyn is one of the most talented actresses in the industry who is known for taking unconventional roles and executing them flawlessly. The Meri Guriya actress was invited in Jashn-e-Cricket hosted by Shahzad Iqbal recently where she gave her point of view on a number of topics.

The host questioned Sonya about her opinion on the viral video in which Firdous Ashiq Awan was seen slapping PPP MNA, Qadir Khan Mandokhail. The actress answered very sensibly, saying that if someone is disrespectful and crosses their limits, then they deserve to be slapped. However, if you are on a media platform being watched by many then you have a responsibility and must behave accordingly. She further added that writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar also disrespects women on the TV. She believes that one should act a little responsibly when they are on the television screens and should learn to keep their opinions to themselves. Hussyn also said that he is a ‘good writer’ but the way he talks about women, is wrong.

Shahzad proceeded with the topic and questioned Sonya’s views on the writer’s statement about him believing that the actress doesn’t have the ‘caliber’ to play his scripts when she confessed that she was offered a role in Qamar’s popular drama serial, ‘Mere Pass Tum Ho.’ The writer had also stated that he didn’t offer Sonya a role. Hussyn clearly said that she doesn’t want to talk about him as she believes a person who is not ‘true to his own words and can not stand by them is not worth it. She further added that hearing Khalil’s name put her in a bad mood. Moreover, the actress said that she doesn’t NEED to play Qamar’s scripts to become famous.
