Lahore district court has issued bailable arrest warrants for actress Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed in a video shoot case at the Wazir Khan mosque.
Saba and Bilal landed in hot waters back in 2020 after the video clips of their song ‘Qubool Hai’ had gone viral. They were shooting the video for the song inside the historic Wazir Khan mosque and it offended masses. On the complaint of lawyer Farhat Manzoor, the Akbari gate police had registered the case last month. The FIR had been registered under section 295 of Pakistan’s Penal Code. The mentioned section basically deals with the ‘offense of injuring a place of worship, with the intent to outrage religious feelings of any class.’
According to a reputed media outlet, the warrants were issued because the two did not appear in the court hearing. Judicial Magistrate Jowaria Munir Bhatti has issued the warrants and the bail has been set at Rs30,000 each.
Responding to the hate, Saba had apologized. She also clarified the stance in a Tweet. She mentioned that the clip was a prologue to the music video and it featured a Nikkah scene. Moreover, The scene wasn’t shot with a playback music
