Why has PEMRA issued a warning notice to GEO TV for the drama ‘Fitrat’?

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has taken notice of a number of TV serials and commercials this year, including the ARY Digital’s infamous drama ‘Jalan’, over indecent content.

Recently, GEO TV drama serial ‘Fitrat’ was served warning notice by the regulatory authority.

The serial is being aired on GEO TV and has some big names in the industry including Saboor Aly, Zubab Rana, Ali Abbas, and Mirza Zain Baig.

PEMRA claims that the drama has inappropriate content and dialogues. The warning letter issued to the channel asked it to bring its editing policy in confirmation with PEMRA’s code of conduct.

It is not only PEMRA having issues with the drama ‘Fitrat’ for its content, but the general public and viewers have also criticized the drama for the same reasons.

It has also been criticized for the main lead Saboor Aly’s dressing in some of the episodes.

PEMRA’s official Twitter account also posted about it on the social site.
