Pakistan Cricket Board, PCB, backed Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, and Young Stunners who sang the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) anthem.
Amid all the criticism that the anthem for the sixth edition of PSL was receiving, reports have revealed that a PCB spokesperson said that the four artists were specially chosen. The board wanted to include singers who hadn’t been featured on the PSL track before.
Adding into his statement, he gave his remarks and reasons about why these singers were specifically selected for the purpose. He called Naseebo a talented and ‘underutilized vocalist‘, whose powerful vocals had the ability to carry the song in the best possible way. Aima was selected to add young energy into the anthem while the Young Stunners naturally became a part of the music since they are the leading names in the country’s hip-hop scene. Moreover, the song aimed to make way for a ‘new sound’ of cricket in the country that targets a ‘multi-dimensional‘ audience rather than just some selective people.
Singer Naseebo Lal was satisfied with the song, as confessed by her in an interview. She felt obliged to sing the song as it was the first project that actually ‘made her happy.’
PSL also took to its Twitter to share some BTS clips of the song’s shoot:
