Obama’s 2021 playlist includes Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab

Former US president Obama shares his ‘song playlist’ every year. This year too, the president took to Twitter to share the playlist. Arooj Aftab, who is a New York-based singer, was also on the list.

Other than Arooj, the list included Bob Marley, Jay-Z, Rihanna, and more. After Barack Obama’s tweet, Aftab took to social media to share her excitement.

Arooj Aftab’s ‘Mohabbat’ is based on a 1921 Urdu ghazal written by Hafeez Hoshiarpur. The whole album basically has songs based on people’s stories, moments lost, and relationships. Arooj, who belongs from Lahore, dedicated the album to her younger brother.
