Social media users are calling out Momina Duraid for agreeing to Mehreen Jabbar’s statement. The public is trolling the CEO of MD productions.
Recently, director and producer Mehreen Jabbar questioned why Pakistani dramas are becoming like Indian soap operas. She took to Twitter to express her point of view. ‘Bad lightning, nonstop carpet music, perfect blow drys for women, the same stubble/beards for men,’ she added further.
She questioned why every drama revolves around people in constant traumas and shouting or crying. ‘1000 episodes of a stretched-out storyline,’ the producer asked.
Pakistani director also agreed to Mehreen’s statement. ‘I feel you Mehreen,’ she wrote under her post. However, her agreement has attracted massive backlash. People trolled Momina. They were quick to remind her that her dramas are also based upon the same content that Jabbar talked about in her post.
A social media user wrote, ‘Momina does realise that her own dramas have these problems too, right?’ Another netizen said that Momina’s productions are a key factor in the decline of Pakistani dramas. The public is trolling her for making problematic content yet agreeing to Mehreen’s statement.
Here is what the public has to say:
Pakistani dramas are very frequently making dramas based on the same toxic plot now. Some of these dramas like Ham Kahan K Sacchay Thay are glorifying toxic and abusive partners and lovers. Moreover, sadly these dramas cast some of the biggest Pakistani actors.
Viewers and fans are disappointed with how the quality of dramas is falling. Only a handful of good drama serials are now being made. The other majority only revolves around the same old stories.
Some of Momina Duraid’s projects include Dastaan, Humsafar, Qaid-e-Tanhai, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and more.
