Nadia Hussain raises awareness on women's legal right to divorce

Supermodel, Nadia Hussain, recently took to social media to shed light on a very important issue. She highlighted the significance of women knowing their legal right to divorce. Hussain believes that every woman should know this at the time of their marriage.

Taking to Instagram, the actress posted pictures of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961 and Clause 18 of the Nikkahnama. She stressed that all women should know Clause 18 of Nikkahnama. She wrote, ‘Do not get it crossed out without your permission or knowledge.’

Talking about the popular misconception of society that women shouldn’t be given the right to divorce, Nadia gave the public a reality check. ‘No sane woman will willingly destroy her own marriage and house if she’s happy and loved,’ she wrote.

Adding more to the topic, she wrote, ‘A woman needs to have the power to exit a toxic marriage.’ The model also posted a video of her own nikkahnama. She said in the video that many people are not ready to accept the fact that women have the right to divorce too. However, she is raising awareness on the issue not because she wants to mislead the public but because she wants women to know about their rights.

According to a study conducted by NIPS, 24.5% of married women have experienced sexual violence by their husbands at least once.

Nadia Hussain was all over social media last month after her interview with a media outlet. Nadia in the interview said that she doesn’t do her husband’s chores because he’s her partner, not her child. She also said that demanding a woman to come home from work and serving her husband is wrong.

I am happy that some one raised that issue. Divorce is the legal right if the marriage is not proceeding well. Better to divorce , then deceive, and carry on.
