Nadia Hussain recently schooled a television show host. The host equated women with a plate of biriyani.
During a panel discussion, the host asked a question from the model-turned-actress, about her favorite food. The ongoing discussion was about sexual crimes and provocation to commit the said crimes. The panel also included Mufti Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and Molvi Hisham Elahi Zaheer.
After the model replied that her favorite food is Biriyani, the host equated women to a plate of biriyani. The Television presenter said, ‘If there is a hot plate of Biriyani in front of you and it smells great, wouldn’t you want to eat it?’
Hussain schooled the host after his victim-blaming remarks. She called him out saying women aren’t ‘a plate of biriyani.’ She added how a woman’s appearance is not an excuse to harass her as an adult should be sensible enough to abide by the law and not to cause harm to anyone.
‘If I was diabetic and I know eating sugar will affect my blood sugar level and if eating biryani is a crime, then I won’t commit a crime! Don’t make excuses,’ the model said.

Here’s what the public has to say:
Hussain often uses her platform to raise awareness about important societal issues. Previously, the supermodel talked about the significance of women knowing their right to divorce. She took to Instagram where she discussed clause – 18 in Nikkah papers. She also said that usually this portion is crossed in the appears.
The actress is vocal and a staunch advocate of women’s rights. Earlier, she called out model Sadaf Kanwal for her statement. Sadaf was of the view that doing husband’s chores is a part of our culture. However, Nadia believes that if a woman is doing her husband’s tasks with her own will, then there’s nothing wrong with it. But she must not be forced for it.
