These days, you can’t do anything without hearing the word “coronavirus” pop up every 5-10 minutes.
The virus reached Pakistan about a month ago, right now we’ve had over 1000 confirmed cases.
We live in a country where we don’t have the resources to deal with tens of thousands of patients with the coronavirus. This is a scary time and of course, everyone feels the panic in the air.
Celebrities have been using this time of self-isolation by putting out whatever information they can to their respective audiences, trying to make sure they can help out however they can.
Mahira Khan, one of the most prominent names in the industry, did the same thing. She uploaded a video to her social media platforms and talked about the virus too.
But hey, you can’t please everyone. Trolls make their way on the internet very quickly and soon after the video went up a user decided to troll Mahira right there.
She asks why celebrities only talk and write posts instead of taking money out of their banks and helping the people who are in danger right now?
This question is uncalled for. You don’t know what a person is doing off of social media. Most people believe in helping the needy in a way where they don’t have to plaster it all over their Instagram. Just because you didn’t see a picture about it didn’t mean it didn’t happen.
Seems like Mahira was done with the trolling behaviour and decided to set this one straight by replying. She talked about how even if she showed her that she was monetarily helping out she’d be asked why she’s showing that off. She ends her comment saying that she doesn’t have to prove anything to people like that and that Allah is the only one who can judge us.
Mahira’s clap back was exactly what was needed in this scenario. People are getting too comfortable hiding behind their screens and typing out whatever they please without thinking about it. Maybe this will deter future trolls from messing with Mahira Khan because she’ll be ready to set them straight.
