Mahira Khan becomes the voice of displaced Afghan refugees, says they deserve better rights

The queen of Pakistan’s entertainment industry and United Nation (UN) goodwill ambassador Mahira Khan, has expressed her support for displaced Afghan refugees.

The Raees actress took to Instagram to raise awareness amongst the mass regarding the rights of Afghan refugees. She shared a few pictures in which she was spending some time with refugee children.

Mahira captioned the post, “The dreams of displaced Afghans are no different than anyone else’s dreams. To have a home. To send their children to school. To provide for their families. They need peace to fulfill their dreams.”

She said that she thinks education is the key to success for every society.

“The GlobalGoals set a target of quality education for ALL. Refugees included. At the #Afghanistan2020, discussions on the quality of education will help secure the future of refugee children,” she added.

Mahira Khan was appointed as National Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) back in 2019.

The UNHCR is a global organization that is aimed at protecting rights, building a better future and saving lives of refugees of displaced communities and stateless people.
