‘Let your work speak for what you advocate,’ public criticizes Zarnish Khan’s statement

Recently, Zarnish Khan and her current ongoing drama have been making headlines. However, for all the wrong reasons.

Zarnish is a renowned Pakistani actress known for her work. She has made her name in the industry and has a massive following. Other than this, Khan often uses her platform to speak on women’s issues and their rights. Currently, however, the actress is being criticized for her recent drama.

A triggering clip from the drama serial Aitebaar is going viral. The serial casts Zarnish in the lead roles. In the mentioned scene, Zarnish’s character can be seen crying and begging her husband to prove she wasn’t sexually abused after being abducted. On the other hand, her husband wouldn’t even look at her and ‘refuses to believe her innocence.’ The husband’s role is played by Syed Jibran.

The clip garnered a lot of backlash after it went viral. The Ishq Zahe Naseeb actress also addressed the issue. In an Instagram post, Zarnish posted the specific scene and wrote in the caption that she seriously ‘condemns this kind of behavior.’

‘Girls are much stronger than this and I’d like for all of us to acknowledge that,’ she wrote. She also mentioned how a man only deserves respect if he gives it back in return. ‘Know your worth and never beg,’ she added further.

The public is not very happy with Zarnish’s statement despite her trying to clarify her point of view. People believe that her work should speak all that she stands for. A user also pointed out how majority of the public who watches her serials won’t even read her Instagram post.

A social media user wrote, ‘If you condone such behavior then you shouldn’t act in such serials. Our drama industry literally thrives on female emotions and presenting their weaker side.’
