Many from Pakistan came together to march in solidarity with the Palestinians in the major cities of the country including some celebrities. People with numerous informative placards raised their voices against Israel’s atrocities.
Among the celebrities who participated in the march were big names like Mahira Khan, Ayesha Omar, Hania Amir and many more. However, instead of focusing on the cause of protest, a number of Pakistanis were more interested in trolling Mahira Khan for the fact that she didn’t wear a ‘dupatta’ on the march.
Khan was called out for not wearing a dupatta on the occasion and many celebrities took notice of it. Many actors and actresses such as Zhalay Sarhadi, Yasir Hussain and Ahmed Ali Butt openly gave a shut up call to the trollers asking them to focus on the real issue rather than the actress’s dupatta.
Hussain took to Instagram where he addressed the hypocrisy of people saying that people can create summer looks out of shorts but Khan isn’t allowed to leave her home without a dupatta in the hot weather. He further urged the people to fear God and have some shame.
After Yasir, Ahmed also spoke about the issue asking people to find shame in their own selves instead of looking for it in someone’s clothing. Zhalay reposted Ahmed’s story sharing her views saying that the reason why ‘real issues’ remain unsolved is because people focus on such minor things.
The stars are triggered over how Mahira’s dupatta is gaining so much attention and the real purpose of the protest is being neglected.
