'Asking for help doesn't make you a weak person,' Arjumand Rahim opens up about her battle with anxiety

Mental health is a topic rarely discussed in our society. Multiple actors and influencers have used their platforms to raise awareness of the significance of mental health. They have raised their voices on how important mental well-being is.

Actress Arjumand Rahim also bravely opened up about her battle with anxiety. The actress believes that there is nothing wrong with asking for help.

Arjumand was recently spotted in an interview. The actress discussed multiple topics including mental health. The Phaans star said that stress is a trigger for multiple diseases. ‘I suffer from a lot of unstable anxiety. Sometimes, I feel it coming on even when I’m on set,’ she added.

The actress believes that the biggest struggle is not having anyone to share it with. ‘If only you could open up at that time and let people know without them considering you mad. It is a taboo,’ she said further.

Talking more about the taboos associated with mental health, the actress believes we need to overcome them. She stated that people think something is ‘wrong’ with them if they ask for therapy. ‘We need to overcome these hangups,’ the actress said.

‘We also need to be a little more open and understanding. We need to feel understood and acknowledged,’ she said. The actress stressed how important therapy is.

‘You have to love yourself before you love someone else. This doesn’t mean you’re selfish or loving yourself in a narcissistic way,’ she said. Arjumand is of the view that one must acknowledge the problems that they are going through. ‘Asking for help wouldn’t make you a defected piece,’ she concluded.

Talking specifically about actors, Rahim said that multiple are struggling with anxiety. ‘One just has to accept for yourself first and then for others around you. I’m getting treated for anxiety and I’m doing great,’ she added.
