Actor Saba Bukhari opens up about casting couch encounters that ‘shattered’ her dreams

Many actors and actresses have opened up about their struggles and problems they faced when they initially started working in the Pakistani media industry. Numerous have told how they were brought down by their directors and even by the ‘more successful fellow’ actors, while some brave ones have also opened up about harassment, including Ayesha Omar.

Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi actress, Saba Bukhari, shared the advice she got from different directors and men in the media industry that broke her from the inside and her dreams.

Taking to Instagram, Saba opened up about the problems she faced in the industry as a new actress with big dreams. In the post, she mentioned some of the most ‘derogatory lines’ that she had heard as an emerging actress.

She mentioned that she was told she couldn’t progress in the industry as she was a good girl and such girls don’t do well in the field. Instead of getting words of encouragement, Saba Bukhari got to hear that she wouldn’t do well in media as she didn’t have enough confidence.

The actress courageously opened up about how she was pushed at the back in the line by individuals in the industry with their words that let her down and stopped her from moving forward. In the hashtags, she expressed how hopeless she felt, but she still continued to try.

Dil Na Umeed To Nahi features Yumna Zaidi, Yasra Rizvi, Wahaj Ali, Nadia Afgan, Nauman Ijaz, Omair Rana and Samiya Mumtaz in the lead roles.
