Police arrests suspects for alleged gang-rape and filming of two girls

The family of two girls, who allegedly were sexually assaulted and blackmailed, held a demonstration outside the police station in Rehmatpur after the two suspects named in the FIR of the case were ‘released’.

The two were arrested after Larkana SSP Masood Ahmed Bangash took notice of the media reports and ordered action on the complaint lodged by the girls’ father.

The father of the victims named two suspects, claiming that they, along with another one, were harassing and blackmailing his daughters and other family members.

SP Headquarters Mohammed Kaleem has been assigned an investigation into the allegations, he also confirmed the arrest of the named suspects.

The complainant said that three suspects, one of them an ASI, had been pressing her daughters for ‘friendship’. He then kidnapped one of them and took her away in a car.

The girls in their video statements accused four people of sexually assaulting and filming them. The ASI threatened to make their videos ‘viral’.

Police have arrested three suspects. However, investigation officer SP Kaleem said the case is being looked into from different angles. On the other hand, the affected family believes that the suspects have been freed and they held a protest outside the police station.
