The Federal Government has announced Rs. 200,000 grant to Laborers for their ‘daughters’ marriage’.
The Federal Government has made the decision of doubling the grant of laborers under the Worker Welfare Fund (WWF) to aid them in their daughters’ marriages.
Initially, Rs. 100,000 was given for the purpose. However, now double the amount will be given as announced by Special Assistant to PM on Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfi Bukhari. In addition to this, the ‘death grant of Laborers’ which is provided to their families after their deaths, has also increased from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 600,000.
Bukhari further informed that the government intends on converting all the ‘public institutions’ into profit-making institutions.
Elimination of corruption from the Employees Old-age Benefits Institution (EOBI) and taking measures for this is the next step.
One important point here is that before the year 2018, the minimum EOBI pensions were at Rs. 5,000. These have now been elevated to Rs. 8,500. The prime minister says his aim is to further increase this amount to Rs. 15,000.
