Punjab government to assign PKR1 billion for ‘merit scholarships’ to the students

The Punjab Government has allocated an amount of Rs1 billion for scholarships under the ambitious ‘Rehmatul Aaleemeen’ program. It is the brainchild and will be launched by Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.

The deserving students will be granted the required funds to help them continue their education. The applicants can apply for the scholarship online, and the amount will be transferred to them through bank accounts.

The CM shared that 50% of the scholarships will be given to bright and brilliant students, while the remaining 50% will be given to deserving students. Moreover, 30 public universities and government colleges will take advantage of the Rahmatul-Lil-Alameen (PBUH) scholarship programme.

Under this programme, the quota for children of government (Punjab) employees of cadre 1 to 4 has been assigned as told by CM Buzdar.

The CM further told that the programme will be enhanced every year and will also be extended to ‘professional degree holders’ later on.
