List of Pakistani dramas you MUST watch!

Pakistani drama industry is known for producing quality content. The industry has been able to produce some of the best dramas with interesting storylines, perfect execution, and powerful direction.

We can all mock the industry for serials showing nothing but love triangles, hate stories, saas-bahu problems, and ‘roti hue aurtain’ but we can also not turn a blind eye towards the fact that Pakistan’s drama industry has also came up with dramas raising awareness on society’s issues such as Udaari, Meri Guriya, Damsa, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and so many more.

Here is a list of the most promising Pakistani dramas of all time that you DEFINITELY need to watch if you haven’t already.

Ranjha Ranjha Kardi

This drama was written by Faiza Iftikhar, Produced by MD productions and directed by Kashif Nisar.

We can not skip Ranjha Ranjha Kardi when talking specifically about the best Pakistani dramas of 2019. This drama was aired on HUM Tv and had the viewers hooked to it till the very last episode. The script was brilliantly written and the serial had top actors of Pakistan’s drama industry including the multi-talented actor Imran Ashraf and the power actress Iqra Aziz.

With a very unique story-line and extraordinary performance, the serial created an impact on the viewers.

Shehr-e-Zaat

Shehr-e-Zaat would always top the list of Pakistani dramas that remain unforgettable. The drama serial is based on Umera Ahmad’s novel and Sarmad Khoosat’s artistic directorial style definitely did justice to the beautiful story.

Shehr-e-Zaat casted the finest actors of Pakistan including Mahira Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Samina Peerzada.

The story revolved around the spiritual journey of a girl who was once arrogant, materialistic, and self-centered. It touched some very tough subjects, however, in a very perfect manner. The drama serial was able to garner a lot of views and people absolutely loved it.

Alif

Again, one of the best Pakistani dramas of 2019. This serial was highly-awaited by Hamza Ali Abbasi’s fans. It was directed by Haseeb Hasan and produced by Epic Entertainment. Alif was based on Umera Ahmed’s ‘best’ novel.

Umera’s stories usually have a spiritual and religious element to them and Alif was one such drama too. The dialogues and characters from this drama serial made it among the ‘most watched’ Geo Entertainment drama just weeks after it was aired.

The viewers fell absolutely in love with Hamza and Sajal Aly’s acting after this. Kubra Khan and Ahsan Khan were also a part of the serial.

Dil Na Umeed To Nahin

The viewers are always in search of dramas having ‘realistic and unordinary’ stories which talk about society’s issues and for such people, this drama is just what they should watch.

Dil Na Umeed To Nahin is the latest Pakistani drama that focuses on the issue of ‘human trafficking and child abuse.’ Other than this, it shows the character of a young girl who wants to become a cricketer. Airing on Tv One, it is written by Amna Mufti and directed by Kashif Nasir.

The serial is perfectly executing some of the core issues of the country and bringing them to the notice of the general public. However, despite the quality content of the serial, it is not getting enough recognition that it deserves.

The drama stars Yumna Zaidi and Wahaj Ali in the leading roles.

Ye Dil Mera

The public of the opinion that this serial has some directorial flaws but they also believe that the writer Farhat Ishtiyaq did an amazing job while writing the script.

The drama showcased the struggles of people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is something one can hardly see on a Pakistani serial. Due to this reason, the serial was able to garner a lot of views despite many thinking that the story was moving very ‘slowly.’ It was definitely an interesting drama due to the element of curiosity in it, and on top of that, Sajal and Ahad’s powerful duo had the viewers hooked to it till the end.

The serial was aired on HUM Tv and casted Ahad Raza Mir, Sajal Aly, Rabia Butt, Adnan Siddique and more.
